Description:
Our client, a privately held telecommunications firm is looking for an experienced Systems QA Engineer / Tech Lead to be based out of their Mountain View, CA office. The Systems QA Engineer / Tech Lead will qualify our client's advanced wireless analytics applications. Our client's system comprises mobile devices, a highly-scalable carrier-grade mobile service intelligence platform and a suite of analytics applications that are used to measure, monitor and diagnose cellular service and device problems. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, innovative and insightful QA Tech Lead proficient in Quality Assurance methodologies, best practices and tools with solid working knowledge of cellular communication protocols, networks and services who can not only develop and execute an innovative test strategy, plan and test cases for our advanced wireless analytics applications, but also advocate and foster highly-effective and "smart" quality practices in a fast-paced agile startup environment. Key Responsibilities:
* Foster quality throughout the full product development lifecycle from inception/requirements to quality product delivery. * Develop the test methodology, strategy, plan and test cases for our advanced cellular device and service analytics solutions. The right person will thrive on developing innovative and insightful approaches to "testing smarter," and will have the hands-on ability to develop tools and scripts to improve productivity, coverage and effectiveness. * Develop test scripts for in-house network simulators (e.g. 3GPP scripts for an Agilent or Anritsu network simulator). * Coach and lead others in quality best practices tailored for agile development methodologies. * Actively engage in the complete Software Development Life Cycle process starting from requirements analysis and system integration to functional testing and customer documentation.

Requirements:
* 7-10 years of technical experience with at least 5 years of telecommunications network protocol and system level end-to-end testing experience in cellular technology companies, preferably with some professional software development experience. * Extensive knowledge of telecom software integration, test automation, and defect investigation, reporting and tracking. * Expertise in developing optimized test configurations for efficient Black Box and White Box testing. * Hands-on testing of mobile wireless communications protocols and products in one or more of the following domains: UMTS, GSM / EDGE, GPRS, CDMA / EvDO, WiFi / WiMax, etc. * Hands-on testing experience using some of the following tools and systems: -UMTS / GSM network simulators (required) and/or CDMA / EvDO network simulators (desired) -TTCN tools -WireShark / Ethereal -XML / XSLT tools -RDMS query tools (desirable) -Interactive Web 2.0 applications -J2EE applications (desirable) * Proficient with UNIX scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, bash, etc.) for automation. * Expert in Quality Assurance methodologies and best-practices and experience with industry-leading tools (e.g. Quality Center). * Knowledge of 3GPP GCF / PRTCD test cases execution and debugging, embedded systems testing, and mobile devices testing are all pluses. * BS in CS, EE, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent (advanced degree preferred).
