Description:
Our client, a prestigious proprietary trading firm in Chicago is seeking a Linux Expert for their High Frequency Linux Engineer role on a full-time basis. This not a Linux Admin role, you will be expected to step in and help when needed, but in this role you will be able to really show off what you know. You will be working with a top trader, developer, and infrastructure team to really push the limits.
Duties:
* Optimizing the Linux stack for High Frequency Trading
* Customize and integrate the stack into their High Frequency Trading environment
* Research the latest and greatest technologies
* Assist peers on critical support issues
* Documentation

Requirements:
Requirements:
* Expert knowledge of Linux (15 years experience)
* Expert in developing on Linux
* Expert in optimizing Linux kernel
* Proficient in bash, Perl / Python, and C languages
* Custom packaging experience required
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Java and Ruby
* Expert/Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP Networking
* Experience supporting trading systems (third party and internally developed)
* Exposure to working with major trading exchanges
