Description:
Our client, a large global proprietary trading firm in Chicago is seeking a Database Administrator to join their DBA team on a full-time basis. This person must be able to work in an agile, fast-paced environment, and be able to prioritize multiple tasks/projects and efficiently respond to changing priorities. Your team will be responsible for maintenance, support, backups, monitoring, performance tuning and troubleshooting of the database environments. There will be a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule for responding to production and business-critical issues. Every 5th week, you will be on-call for one week. Experience working in a capital markets database infrastructure is a plus.

Requirements:
Requirements:
* 1 - 4 years of experience as a DBA in Oracle and/or SQL Server.
* SDLC, source control and change management protocols knowledge.
* Experience with data backup, recovery, and rollback planning/implementation, database performance tuning and configuration tools in Oracle and/or SQL Server.
* Monitoring and troubleshooting experience on Oracle and/or SQL Server using either native technologies or third party tools.
* Working knowledge of Linux / Unix platforms, and T-SQL, PL/SQL development and/or optimization.
* BS/BA degree is required.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with clustering, replication and mirroring is a plus.
* Experience working with database infrastructure of trading firms/capital markets is a plus.
